- >:Time to upgrade!
-
- >:I've decided to buy a graphics card and a new monitor for my 030 A2000
- >:and I'm looking for some advice.
-
- >:The following is what I would like my new setup to handle:
-
- >:* A nice, 8 or 16 color, 800x600 or 1024x768 Workbench, no flicker -
- >: what would that be, 60 Hz?
-
- No, 70-80 Hz, this also depends on the monitor. SVGA on PC is around 70 Hz.
-
- >:The Picasso II - 2MB, probably. It's been here for some time and seems
-
- I have a A3000 with GVP Spectrum and its ok. There's a jumper to choose Zorro mode.
-
- >:What monitor?
-
- >:If I chose one without controls for horizontal and vertical size and
- >:position, could I end up with horrible borders?
-
- Yes :-)
-
- >:And finally, I suppose CyberGraphX is the way to go. Where can I get
- >:this, is it commercial now?
-
- A limited demo is on Aminet and many BBSer.When you register you get a personalized
- monitor-driver. Then you can edit the screenmodes.
-
- >:With CyberGraphX do I have to fiddle with additional drivers to
- >:achieve the goals above?
-
- Not so much, you must have a driver for your gfxcard, and maybe a driver for programs
- like Real3D, Photogenics etc.
